Series, represented here by
the 7 channel power
amplifier, the M25. Rated @
160W x 7 channels driven
continuously, it weighs just
under 100lbs, thanks to
heavy duty construction and
a truly massive,
Holmgren(not related to the
coach of the Seahawks)
power transformer. Retail is
$2,999.00.
The Master's Series disc
player entrant is the M55 at
$1,799. This player plays

including DVD Audio &
SACD. It uses Faroudja to
perform it's deinterlacing
and scaling operations and
features 12-bit / 54 MHz
video DACs. It also boasts
an RS-232 control port and
12v trigger input for
advanced integration.
The SMS-1 Bass
Management System from
subwoofer pioneer Velodyne

advanced room equalization
features. It has a calibrated
microphone and auto EQ

The Sony KDF-E60A20, one
of their new 3LCD RPTVs. It
includes an ATSC tuner
(naturally) and an HDMI
input. The image looked
very good but did not have
quite the detail or smooth
pixel structure of Sony's
SXRD products.
B&K Electronics demoed their new HD video over CAT-5
system. It distributes component HD as balanced analog
video using B&K's new HD6 matrix switcher. It can output on
both standard RCA video outputs or CAT-5. The CAT-5
can go over 300' with no degradation. In B&K's booth they
had the video running through a whole 500' spool of
CAT-5e with no apparent ill effects. Keep in mind the demo
screen was fairly small. The retail price on the HD6 was
reported to be $2,999.00 when it's available. B&K also
joined many other multi-room audio manufacturers by
showing an iPOD interface.

The 73" Mitsubishi
WD-73827 DLP RPTV,

screen, rear projection,
1080p market. The unit
features 2 HDMI inputs, and

panel IEEE 1394 connection
and TV Guide onscreen.
Mitsubishi also showed 52"
& 62", 1080p DLP TVs. Mits
has added a 1080p input to
some of their sets, allowing
for MS Media Center Edition
PCs & new game consoles
to show 1080p content.
The 73" Mitsubishi

showing the 1080p input in
use with MS Media Center
Edition & WMVHD content.
DirecTV was showing their
new DirecTV branded DVR
that will be replacing the
TiVo product DirecTV has
used to date. This is the
Model R15, called "DirecTV
Plus". This unit is SD but
there is an MPEG4 HD unit
that should be available by
the first week of October.
The front panel appearance
of the two units is almost
identical, save for a
"DirecTV HD" logo.
