A factory refurbished LCD or plasma TV is the perfect way to get a great flat panel
TV without spending too much of your hard earned money. In today's economy,
that's important. Nothing like getting a cheap LCD TV.

Just what is a refurbished TV? TVs can be refurnished for a number of reasons.
One reason is customer returns. Not all the TVs sold find happy homes.
Manufacturers sometimes take them back after they've been sold. In some cases
they've never even been used, although typically those with no use are resold by
the original retailer.

A recent survey by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)
discovered that only 10% of all TVs returned to the manufacturer actually
had any problems.
The remainder were due to reasons other than a defect, such
as buyer's remorse. That means you'll most likely get a TV that has been
completely gone through by factory technicians, even though it had no problem.
That means you could get a far better bargain on a refurb than if you
bought new, when you consider quality and price.

Another reason a TV may be refurbished is due to an initial quality problem or
defect. A customer purchases the TV and returns it due to a cosmetic or functional
defect. In some cases the problem will be repaired in the field or local facility by a
factory authorized repair center. In other cases it will be sent to the company's
regional or national repair center where it will be refurbished to original factory
specifications.

Besides the price, refurbished TVs have another advantage; they have been
thoroughly inspected and subjected to rigorous quality control procedures. Many
people are unaware of this, but not all TVs off the standard production line receive
such treatment. Typically the factory will pull only a tiny sampling of units for
inspection. Modern high speed production techniques don't permit it any other
way. So maybe only one out of every 30, 50, or 100 sets will actually be checked
for problems. The rest are shipped directly to retailers or distributors.

In the industry, refurnished TVs and other consumer electronic products are
known as "B-stock" units. In many cases they are highly sought after commodities
due to their tremendous value. On many occasions these TVs are snapped up by
employees of dealers and distributors, so they never even get to the general
public for sale.

These aren't usually no name units either, but TVs from top line manufacturers,
such as Sony, Panasonic, Sharp, LG and Samsung. These manufacturers have
the resources to properly administer an refurbishment program and redistribution
of the b-stock units. That means you could get a Sharp Aquos, Sony XBR, or
Samsung for less than some no name TV!

Here are some great deals on refurbished LCD and plasma flat panel TVs. Take a
look, you may find the perfect TV for your home theater, family room or bedroom. If
you're looking for a cheap LCD TV, but still want a first class viewing experience,
