No More Disk for Netflix on Your Wii

Rejoice! You can now enjoy Netflix on your Wii, w/o that pesky disk.

Not wanting to let Wii owners continue to put discs in for Netflix streaming when Sony PS3 owners can get away with just watching, today Netflix announced that Wii owners too, would be able to enjoy streaming content on the game consoles sans disk. If you have a Wii, just go to the Wii Shop channel to get the required download, then you’re off to the races.

Once it’s installed, go to the Wii menu for easy access to Netflix “Watch Instantly” content. You’ll need broadband, but if you still have to hear a dial tone when you get on the net, you’re probably not quite ready to stream content yet anyway. Netflix is now considering expanding the now Canadian only pure streaming subscriber option to the U.S.  Currently, those in the Great White North shell out $7.99 a month for the service.
